Lets Explore the Box Together

The Box

I figured I would bring a few things over to the RE BarCamp blog and start to unpack them.  The real estate business and the rest of the world have changed over the last few years and there is always so much to learn, and it isn’t enough to keep up, we need to stay ahead.

We used to have web pages on the internet and that was considered pretty high tech.  These days it isn’t about web sites or about technology it is about what we do best, meeting people and selling real estate.  We are more likely to meet people on the internet than ever before because that is where they go to look for homes to buy and for Realtors.

What we need to learn is how to exploit the tools that are out there and are free for us to use. They don’t require technical skills but they do require some time and imagination.

RE BarCamps present a wonderful opportunity to learn from each other.  All to often we learn ‘technology’ from people who are trying to sell us a product or service.  Most of what we learn about at RE BarCamps is free and so is the RE BarCamp.   We can learn how to use what is out there in new and creative ways so that we can help the people who live in our computers and who are looking for us to find us.

If none of the icons in the graphic look familiar or only some of them do this event will be a great way to learn more.  Maybe the best opportunity you will have to get started.  For those who have some experience this is a great opportunity to share it with the rest of us. There isn’t any better way to really learn a topic than to teach it.

I have attended RE BarCamps all over the country.  The topics and the sessions go way beyond anything I have seen in a CEU class or at an office meeting, or even at most conferences.  That is why these events have become so popular.  They are free and an excellent educational opportunity.  They are often interactive more like a conversation than a class and the topics are generally not found any place else.  There is a lot of value from learning from each other.  The RE  BarCamp experience is also a chance to socialize and have a little fun.

Oh and I kind of ran out of space on my graphic or I would have added more.
