Interested in presenting?

Barcamps and REBarcamps aren’t typically very structured events. Attendees normally flock together the day-of and outline a series of discussion topics for the day. Sure it might sound a little chaotic and unorganized but actually, it kinda works out really well! Most folks are really passionate about what they’re doing and are openly willing to share and collaborate with others.

But anyway, for Real Estate Barcamp Los Angeles, we want to add a little bit of structure for a few reasons…

  • A lot of novice web 2.0 users aren’t very familiar with the Barcamp format. By adding somewhat of an agenda we’ll be able to answer the “what’s in it for me?” (WIIFM) question that people are asking and thereby drive attendance.
  • We’ll still stick to the traditional multi-session format but by adding a little bit of structure we’ll be able to accommodate both the novice web 2.0 marketers as well as the advanced web 2.0 users.
We’re NOT going to set the agenda for the whole day. No! What we’re going to do is organize a 2-4 hour novice track where we’ll cover blogging basics, social networking basics, etc. and still have the rest of the day adhere to the traditional barcamp model. Our goal is to accommodate every type of attendee and really make it a content-driven event that everyone is interested in participating in.

So, if you’re interested in leading a discussion group, please fill out this form. If you’re attending, what kind of content would you like featured at this event? Drop a comment below and let us know.

I know the name sounds a little intimidating and or confusing so nevermind the name for now. Basically, Real Estate Barcamp Los Angeles is a one-day, FREE, social media conference for the Real Estate space. Here’s some of what you’re expected to learn:

  • Strategies of Blogging for Business in Real Estate
  • Preferred Blogging Platforms
  • Online Tools to Boost Your Blog (and ultimately your biz)
  • Twitter Strategies
  • Marketing on Facebook
  • LinkedIn Networking Tips
  • Vlogging Tips
  • Leveraging Social Networks like Active Rain
  • Driving Traffic to Your Site
  • Lead Generation Strategies
  • Search Engine Optimizations Tips
…and much, much more!

Now that you have an idea of the type of content to be covered, here’s who should be attending: real estate industry related people including real estate brokers, lenders, inspectors, home-stagers, title reps, coaches, geeks, non-geeks, geek wannabes and anyone who is interested in learning and sharing knowledge in a freely collaborative environment. But really, anyone is welcome! If you own a small business, have your own private law firm, etc. and you’re interested in moving taking your marketing into the web 2.0 space, stop on by and RSVP

If you still have questions about the event and how you might get involved, feel free to give any one of us a call! Otherwise, enjoy this REBarcamp San Francisco video put together by Dave Gibbons from Zillow.

So the volunteer team and I are working hard to get make REBarcamp, in a word, ROCK! This week we’re working hard to set event details, run the REBarcampLA blog, market the event old-school style, and track down a key-note and a few other speakers…

Real Estate Barcamp Los Angeles

Some pretty cool people are going to be there but more on that as we work out the details and sift through the registration list. So far we’ve got Diverse Solutions, CV Escrow, and Zillow as confirmed sponsors and we’ve got other cool sponsors showing some interest; we’ll be confirming them this week. If you’re interested in sponsoring this event, you can check out our F.A.Q. page here or get in touch with any one ofour volunteers. Just remember, you’re not restricted to a $250 donation or nothing…some people have pitched in lesser amounts; after all every little bit counts! As more sponsors sign up, we’ll do more for attendees in that way.
