Here is a sample Sponsor Letter that was created for the San Mateo County REBarCamp in 2010 that will give you a good start. The Association was smart enough to get behind the REBC concept for their members.
Dear Potential Sponsor:
Thank you for your interest in sponsoring the first REBarCamp being held in San Mateo County! The event is being presented by the San Mateo County Association of REALTORS on Monday, September 20th at the 885 Woodside Road condominiums in Redwood City from 8:30 am-4:00 pm.
What is a REBarCamp? It is a unique event unlike any you have attended before. Real Estate BarCamp pulls together curious Realtors® who are seeking to learn more about social media and real estate technology, alongside industry thought leaders and insiders to collectively share their knowledge in an open learning environment.
The event is being marketed to all members of the San Mateo County Association of REALTORS, along with industry thought leaders throughout the country. We are utilizing “traditional” marketing such as the Association newsletter, flier, announcements in the tour sheets and on the MLS sign in. We will also be marketing the event through social media via a dedicated website/blog at www.rebarcampsanmateocounty.com and on the Facebook business page at www.facebook.com/rebarcampsmc. You can also follow us on Twitter with the hashtag #rebcsmc.
We are expecting about 200 REALTORS to attend, and are making it a super day for them by providing complimentary coffee and refreshments in the morning, a catered lunch and a hosted reception afterwards. We are able to put this incredible free learning opportunity together due to the generous support of our in-kind sponsors.
Event Sponsorship is $250
* Sponsors will receive recognition on the blog and the Facebook business page.
* All sponsors will have their logos with links on the blog and we will also write about them on the blog posts with links to their sites.
* Sponsor logos will appear on the event flier distributed to members of the San Mateo County AOR.
*Sponsors will be recognized with their website link on the REBCSMC Facebook Business page
All sponsors will have their logos on the recognition boards at the event at registration and will be placed on signage in the education rooms.
REBarCamps have become a national movement to provide a free day of learning and collaboration for real estate professionals. In keeping with the spirit of the movement, sponsors will not be allowed to pitch their products during the sessions. Sponsors will be thanked publicly at the opening session and are encouraged to sit in on the sessions and network with the attendees, but the attendees are being instructed to walk out of any session if feel that they are being pitched.
