On Thursday evening, after we’ve had our fill of sharing and general good times, our venue, The World Cafe Live downstairs will be hosting Sonny Landreth. A great blues guitar player, which should be an exciting show. Also, in the Upstairs, the World Cafe has said they can provide us with a Trolley for 40 people to tour the murals of Philadelphia along with a visit to Yards Brewing (it includes some beer samples too). It is called the Philadelphia Ale and Arts Adventure.

In advance, you can purchase Sonny Landreth tickets here. They should also be available the day of as well. You can even grab dinner there, as well. We will have a sign up for the Trolley tour that day.

Here’s a map of discounted parking lot is for the event. The cost is $15 for the day and it’s a self park lot. The attendants will be leaving at 3pm but the lot/garage will be open for people to leave after that since Bar Camp will end just after 4pm.

We have negotiated a special rate for one of our hotels, The Inn at Penn (a Hilton Hotel). Parking is not included, however, due to an outside vendor.

The team made another visit to World Cafe Live for some final planning and made quick video of the event space. We are REALLY excited about it. Have a look.

While we don’t have a “deal” with these two hotels, the World Cafe has said that if you mention them there may be a discount for your stay. They are both within comfortable walking distance or quick taxi ride to our venue. The hotels are the following:

We know it’s been a while and it’s taken some effort this year to get the space, but we’re very happy to announce that we will be holding RE BarCamp Philly ‘10 at the World Cafe Live.

We’ll have much more information in the 22 days we have left, but we wanted everyone to know.

If you have a little spare time Thursday morning, please consider joining us for a photowalk through historic Philadelphia. We’ll be meeting at 8:oo AM in the Hyatt Regency Penn’s Landing lobby and will be grabbing breakfast either before or after the walk – feel free to join us and help decide. This will be a relaxed, casual walk with friends and cameras, and we may very well make it up as we go along.

The route will likely take us past:

• The Liberty Bell, which was called the Independence Bell until 1837, when an anti-slavery group adopted it as a symbol of freedom based on the inscription, “Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the Land unto all the inhabitants thereof.“
• Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was debated and adopted, and which originally housed the Liberty Bell.
• The Benjamin Franklin Bridge
  
• The Philadelphia Waterfront which includes Penn’s Landing, Philadelphia Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial and Independence Seaport Museum.

We expect to walk at least a couple miles, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Click here to view the REBCPHL map for more location details.

The 21 Day Blogging challenge set forth in this post is officially on. While, admittedly, we didn’t give a lot of time to get ready to enter, we did have to make some tough decisions.
