This is a repost from my blog DaveWoodson.com
Blogging has been one of my best way to have ever been found from ActiveRain to my own mortgage blog to several new blogs that I am currently rolling out before the end of the year.
I, personally, despise the Yellow Pages it is a waste of paper and generally the average person that would use the Yellow Pages would just simply call the first person under the heading anyway, that is why we have so many AAA plumbers out there. When you learn to use “free” online tools, you will save time and money, sand you will show yourself to be the local expert in your field whether it be Real Estate, Mortgage or whatever else you are doing.
When you come to ReBar Indy you are going to learn about blogging, video, Social Media, and not just from some guy trying to sell you something, but from real people who have done it and are doing it every day. So, sign up today, rooms are still available if you need to stay overnight, come ready to learn and share.

The yellow page people don’t care if you throw it away, they’ve already made their money.
The 55 + still have lots of money to spend and hopefully all the ads in the yellow pages are targeted for that age group – if not the advertisers are just throwing money away. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in total agreement with you about the uselessness of yellow pages, but my mom uses hers all the time and she has way more money to spend than I do.

You might be right, but still over 70% of all home owners or future home buyers start online. It may even be higher than that, why waste your time on the YP when you can capture so many more online with google or bing. If you are not being found online you are not being found.
