Estridge Homes Sponsors RE Barcamp Indianapolis!

Estridge Homes holds a dear place in my heart, as they were the builder who volunteered so much for the Extreme Makeover Home Edition in Indianapolis back in April of this year. They led the build team and constructed a new home for the McFarland family in seven days. Estridge is a company that is leading by example, caring about their customers, and proving it with every home they build.

Here is an amazing “time lapse” video of the Extreme Makeover Build:

That is simply amazing to watch!

Now let’s listen in as Paul Estridge Jr. talks about his keys to succes:

From all of us on the planning committee, we would like to thank Estridge Homes for sponsoring RE Barcamp Indianapolis 2009. It means a lot to us!

RE Barcamp Love for Sponsor CENTURY 21 Scheetz

What an incredible group of folks at Century 21. We had C21 Scheetz and C21 Corporate come in to make RE Barcamp Indy even more successful!

CENTURY 21 Scheetz: #1 C21 Brokerage in Indiana

Century 21 Scheetz

CENTURY 21 Scheetz has been a quality service leader in the Metropolitan Indianapolis area since 1976, and they have something pretty special to offer greater Indianapolis home buyers and sellers just like you.

They have paid attention and built their services around the things that matter most to customers.

Let’s take a look:

Reputation- CENTURY 21 Scheetz has won local, national, and international awards and accolades, but what’s most important is what people like you say about them. They have a long list of satisfied customers.

Experience- Scheetz agents have an average of over 15 years experience in the real estate business. Their agents are longtime Indianapolis residents who happen to be experts in the field of real estate. They know Indy, and they take the time to know you.

Personal Attention- There’s nothing like an agent who takes the initiative to pull up a list of homes you might like. Or the flexibility of an agent who works around your schedule and is always available to answer your questions. They have preserved the small-business way of doing business…with a focus on you. That hasn’t changed over the years.

A Full Service Staff- With over 300 agents in multiple locations throughout greater Indianapolis, there is an agent to help you with buying, selling, relocating, mortgage application, and so much more.

Results- CENTURY 21 Scheetz has the highest average home sale price in central Indiana, and Indiana’s highest average sales production per agent.

They are here to make Indianapolis a better place. For more information, or to find an agent that specializes in the services you need, Please call 866-342-7750 or email them at information@c21scheetz.com.

The Fishers Convention Center is a just a great place and it will have internet access. So, be sure to bring your laptop, your netbook or your wifi’d phone and be prepared to tweet or facebook all day. You never know what you may learn from one room to the next.

Like this discussion from a recent ReBar in DC about Flickr
rebcdc2

Or even maybe someone being paranoid about laughing too loud, again DC (@brokersaunders) not mentioning names.
#rebcdc

Plus, don’t forget the law of 2 feet, you don’t like something in your room. You can easily find out what is going on in the other rooms before you leave.

Another, helpful suggestion – extension cord – not everyone gets to sit next to the power.

An Indy Rebar Warm UP (dare, I say Tweetup)

At this point, I intend to leave my house (from church really) in NW Indiana and drive down to Indy. I have to make one stop in Sheridan to see a college buddy and very good friend, but then I am making my way to Fishers and the Holiday Inn. That is where I am staying under an assumed name, it keeps the late night calls to minimum.

Well, for those that are interested and why would you not be. We (I am assuming more than a few will join me) will head over to the Blue Crew Sports Grill. I have heard under good authority that is a good place for a burger, beer & good Real Estate talk (from @harrisonpainter, (so if you don’t like it blame him). The night before the Ohio event about 20 of us hit a killer italian place where I had one of the best ribeye steaks, evah. Not to mention, I got some of the best insights and ideas. Plus, the best networking happened there aw well. So, don’t be a stick in the mud come out and join us or just join me.

@rewebcoach (Bobby Carrol) & @davewoodson (Dave Woodson)

Hey, I am not from Indy, I am not a Colts fan (Da Bears) and my drinking days in college are long past and I think the statute of limitations has not run out in Broad Ripple yet. But, I am sure we can still sneak into Broad Ripple later on Sunday or even Monday night.

But, DM me@davewoodson Sunday night and I will make sure that you get a ride if needed or we will make other arrangements to eat there or someplace else. But, I think a good night for bugers & beer with some football. Oh, WTH, I guess it will be baseball as the World Series is on there will be no Football. Well, the good news we can still talk Real Estate, Marketing, Social Networking and maybe more.

If other arrangements are made, I will do my best to post them here and I will make sure to leave a note at the front desk at the Holiday Inn and not the express I am not that smart I guess.

This is the final GoGladiator Media installment of the Extreme Makeover Home Edition shoot in Bunker Hill, Indiana. It was an honor to experience such an amazing group of people working together unselfishly to change the lives of the Cowan-Brown family. This is by far the most emotional video we have ever done, and are proud to share it with all of you!

This video shows the power of what you can do with a simple flip cam, a $399 JVC camcorder, and free video editing software. We downloaded this to Youtube, facebook, and posted it up on our blogs.

At RE Barcamp Indy, we will discuss a website called TUBE MOGUL where you can download your videos on multiple website!

The Yellow Pages are Yellow & Why you don’t need them anymore

This is a repost from my blog DaveWoodson.com

Blogging has been one of my best way to have ever been found from ActiveRain to my own mortgage blog to several new blogs that I am currently rolling out before the end of the year.

I, personally, despise the Yellow Pages it is a waste of paper and generally the average person that would use the Yellow Pages would just simply call the first person under the heading anyway, that is why we have so many AAA plumbers out there.   When you learn to use “free” online tools, you will save time and money, sand you will show yourself to be the local expert in your field whether it be Real Estate, Mortgage or whatever else you are doing.

When you come to ReBar Indy you are going to learn about blogging, video, Social Media, and not just from some guy trying to sell you something, but from real people who have done it and are doing it every day. So, sign up today, rooms are still available if you need to stay overnight, come ready to learn and share.

Let’s get you building better relationships on facebook! Here is a list of things you should do, and things you should not do! Follow these simple rules and you will not only build your business, but many lifelong friends will be developed along the way too!

Credit & inspiration for this post goes to the great Brian Tomkins in Chicago. He has been a huge influence on me in the social media world, and a person I am proud to call a friend! Brian will be in Indy to speak & share at RE Barcamp Indy!

facebook

facebook Do’s:

  • BE AUTHENTIC. People want to connect with the REAL YOU
  • Have a nice professional profile pic – You never get a second chance to make a first impression!
  • Have a complete profile – short and powerful
  • Set the rules of your facebook relationships – Lead by example
  • Be a giver. Leave good comments on posts, photos, notes, and videos
  • Be a master connector. Suggest friendships to others.
  • Say happy birthday!
  • Applaud Success. Pat people on the back and let them know you care
  • Comliment and Thank friends on their wall
  • Reach out and connect with people who have small networks. They will appreciate you for it!
  • Always answer messages or wall posts promptly!
  • Clean up your wall regularly. Keep it nice and neat
  • Do not be afraid to un-tag yourself from photos or video if needed

Facebook Don'ts

facebook Don’ts

  • Do not forget what you are here for, to build relationships
  • Please do not raid a persons friend list. It is not right and will only hurt your reputation.
  • Always keep in mind that what is on your wall is their for the world to see.
  • No games, farmville, mafia, ect….It only annoys others and brings no value
  • Never spam or over-promote yourslef on other people walls or in their groups

  • Do not tag others in photos and videos without permission
  • Do not tag others in unprofessional photos or videos.

This is a basic list, and will take you far. facebook has grown up, and so have the people using the platform. Many companies are looking at social media profiles before they hire people, and everything you put out there is a reflection of you.
